Many people are familiar with using a will to care for family and take care of personal obligations after their death. Wills can also be used to support nonprofit organizations by including a provision known as a charitable bequest.

 

 

 

The tax benefits of making a charitable gift with cash are well known, but donors can realize an even larger tax savings when they donate appreciated stocks and other securities to one of VNA Care’s nonprofit agencies or hospice residence.

 

 

 

You may be able to double the impact of your gift. Many employers offer matching gift programs and will match staff’s charitable contributions. Check with your company’s human resources department to see if they offer a matching gift program. Some businesses will even match donations made by retirees and/or spouses.
