Campaign for the Tippett Home's 25th Anniversary

Continuing the Legacy of Compassion and Caring

In the late 1980s, Dedham-based Visiting Nurse Associates had a dream to create a small residential facility for terminally ill individuals for times when it was not possible or optimal to receive end-of-life care at home. Their desire was to provide compassionate support and alleviate pain in quiet, peaceful, home-like surroundings.

The generous support of individuals, businesses, and foundations made possible the purchase of a stately brick home in Needham in 1991 that was transformed into one of Massachusetts' first hospice residences.

The Stanley R. Tippett Hospice Home opened in June 1994. In the 25 years since the community gathered for its opening, our Tippett hospice team has eased the end-of-life journey for more than 4,500 terminally ill patients while providing care and support to their loved ones.

We remain focused on our mission to provide the right care with kindness and compassion every day for every patient and loved one we serve while ensuring the Tippett Home's warm and safe surroundings.

The community's support plays an essential role in fulfilling this promise to our patients and their loved ones during a very difficult time of life. VNA Care has identified more than $250,000 in needs at the Tippett Home, so we have embarked on a special 25th anniversary campaign. Donations will be used to ensure the structural integrity and energy efficiency of the building, comfortable and home-like setting, and highest possible quality care for patients and their loved ones.
