VNA Care Marks 100 years of Serving Leominster Area Residents

VNA Care was given its own special day in the City of Leominster. Mayor Dean J. Mazzarella declared Sept. 25, 2019, as VNA Care Day in recognition of the Leominster office's centennial.

Local residents joined state and local dignitaries that morning for a special reception and health screenings at the Leominster Senior Center. Holly Chaffee, MSN, BSN, RN, president and CEO of VNA Care, accepted citations from Elizabeth Chen, secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs; State Senator Dean Tran; and City Councillor Claire Freda.

Before presenting citations from both the Massachusetts Senate and House of Representatives, Sen. Tran said, "I wanted to show you how grateful I am to all of you, and not just because of the services you provide to my community. You do it with kindness and compassion. Those are two very critical components of providing home health care and hospice to the people in my community."

VNA Care's Leominster office was established in 1919 as the Leominster Visiting Nurse Association through the support of the Red Cross and Fortnightly Club.
